* What makes MLFG unique?
In addition to all the fun campers will have meeting the animals and learning about the farm, the camp offers a variety of STEM-based hands-on activities that help campers care for the animals and learn about where food comes from.
* What facilities and animals are on the farm?
We have several barns and pastures, and horses, sheep, a beautiful Jersey cow (our beloved Mattie!), miniature goats and lots and lots of a variety of chickens! Check out our “Animals” page to meet our family.
* What does a typical day at camp look like?
After campers sign in, we get right to work on our daily activities which are always outside working with the animals and discovering nature.
* What is the staff to camper ratio?
All camps maintain one staff member for every 10 campers.
* What are the qualifications of the camp staff?
Camps are led by the Camp Manager, who has over 30 years of experience in farming and animal husbandry, and is a retired middle/high school science teacher.
* What should campers bring with them to camp?
Campers should wear sunscreen and clothes/shoes that can get dirty, and bring a bottle of water and a snack. If chance of rain, campers should bring rain gear.
* What happens in case of inclement weather?
As farming is an outdoor activity, camps are held rain or shine. If weather is severe, campers will have refuge in the barn until the storm passes.
* What is your refund policy?
Refunds less a $5 service charge are provided up to one week prior to camp start.
* How are parents notified in case of emergency?
All campers complete an emergency contact form at drop off on Day 1.
* What are your COVID-19 policies?
We will be following all of the COVID safety requirements by NYS. A hand washing station, sanitizer, and extra masks will be available for your child. We do not require children to wear masks outside but required social distancing will be maintained. Our staff have been vaccinated for the safety of the children.
* What if my child has allergies?
It is the responsibility of the parent to inform the Camp Manager of any allergies and the necessary accommodations prior to camp registration to ensure we can meet your child’s needs.
* If I’m coming from a distance or if my child has special needs, can a parent/guardian stay on site during camp?
Special arrangements may be considered if the Camp Manager is contacted in advance. Parents and caregivers will NOT be permitted to be involved in camp activities.
