MARILYN'S LEARNING FARM & GARDENS

Welcome to our farm!

Marilyn's Learning Farm & Gardens began when the Farm's owner, Linda Judd, purchased the Farm in 2009.  People driving by would often park their cars and walk over to look at the sheep and other animals.  Kids were especially interested, and would often ask if they could feed the chickens or ride the horses.  As a middle school science teacher for Churchville Chili, Linda had also been teaching summer camps through Monroe Community College where kids were introduced to some of the science behind agriculture.  When parents came to pick the kids up from camp, they would frequently ask Linda if she could do something similar at her farm.  Knowing she loved to work with kids and loved working on the farm, Linda started thinking of ways to introduce kids to not only the farm itself, but also to animal husbandry and sustainable agriculture. Thus, Marilyn's Learning Farm & Gardens was born!

Today we strive to provide opportunities for people of all ages to learn about farm animals, food science, and sustainable food production by providing opportunities to CULTIVATE a passion for agriculture.  In addition, we offer a variety of ways kids can experience the FUN of the farm, from summer camps and field trips to after school programs. Feel free to also ask us about Animal Assisted Therapy.

We also have seasonal fresh produce available: free range chickens and turkeys, fresh chicken eggs, and wool from our beautiful sheep.

Linda has always loved being around farm animals, and has owned horses for over thirty years.  She has extensive animal husbandry experience, owning and caring for sheep, chickens, turkeys, goats, cows and assorted cats and dogs as well as horses.  She participates in extensive community service for farming-related issues, and maintains a wide-ranging local- and state-level farming network.  You can find further details of Linda's experience through her LinkedIn page at https://www.linkedin.com/in/linda-judd-7423b6148/.

Mission Statement

Our mission is to promote conservation and farming ethics for a sustainable future.  We aim to educate tomorrow’s generation about where our food comes from and what it takes to get it to our table, such that they become stewards of farmland and of farm animals.
